Ai Doesn’t Replace; It Makes Unproductive

Contrary to popular belief A.i. is making workers unproductive. Ai is not replacing workers at all.

Since the introduction of ai chatgpt openai’s advanced reasoning models, the uber platform is breaking down. There hasnt been so many empty shift slots ever. screenshot is from January 30, 2026.

More workers to do less work: because ai

More open shifts in rdam than ever. It makes no sense anymore to work peak hours.

and we need more riders to do less work collectively, because bonuses dont work anymore. Ai did the opposite of its promise: it doesn’t replace workers: it makes them unproductive.

also it seems like the Uber HQ retards cant change the app anymore, because the ai slop probably broke everything.

each change breaks more than it fixes.

Black Box Payslips at UberEATS

Sucessful ai systems provide transparant and realtime feedback to all stakeholders of the system: delivery workers, office personnel, restaurants and customers. The ai implementation at UberEATS does the opposite: hide all information and increase what the ai knows and what the rest know.

Since the introduction of agentic ai systems at UberEATS in Netherlands in the summer of 2025 it has become unclear how delivery workers get paid.

Income is hidden from workers. We dont know why we are paid for what work. Bonuses dont make sense and are agressively denied when we near target completion.

Income statement dont specify distance, quest and other types of bonuses. There is no way to check pur work against what we ver paid.

The point of incentives is to pay workers more for more work. Right now, the incentives are not working at all, because we have no way to check what we are doing. Realtime app feedback and income specifications and even order progress is turned off since the ai test pilot.

Payslip. Getting paid: but for what exactly?! Do the bonus incentives even count at all? Is the ai hallucinating payments?
